Get to Know a Partner! This Week: EDCTP

The European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) is a collaboration between 14 European and 16 African countries, supported by the European Union. It aims to reduce the burden of poverty-related infectious diseases in sub-Saharan Africa by developing new or improved medicinal products for identification, treatment, and prevention, with a focus on phase II and III clinical trials. EDCTP’s mission is to accelerate the development of effective treatments and vaccines through pre- and post-registration clinical studies. By conducting these studies, EDCTP evaluates the efficacy and safety of new medicinal products, particularly during the critical phase II and III trials.
